A Coffee Snob’s Guide to NYC

A guide to 10 of the best coffee shops in New York

A quick fire guide to some of the very best coffee in New York. I’ll take an oat milk flat white, thanks.

I’m no New York native, but my Kiwi up-bringing has undoubtedly morphed me into a fully fledged coffee snob (Wellington has more cafes per capita than anywhere else in the world) so naturally I’m somewhat opinionated about where to find the best coffee in Manhattan.

As the cliche goes, it’s the city that never sleeps, so where are the best spots for some serious caffeination? My key criteria: it’s gotta be strong (minimum two shots per coffee), makes a velvety cortado (what we call a flat white) and no cups large enough to serve popcorn in. Extra points for sexy interiors and friendly baristas of course.
