Repeat offender: the unlikely wardrobe heroes I rely on 24/7

Don’t be fooled by the endless outfits you see paraded on Instagram. It’s completely normal to wear the same stuff week in, week out. I find it comforting to reach for the same pieces over and over. It’s easy. Not boring.

So here’s to the pieces I’ve been wearing all spring, all summer, and most likely will be wearing well into autumn.

And no I’m not talking about the usual suspects, the slouchy white tee’s, the lived in denim. Those are a given. I’m talking about those special – I guess some may say statement – pieces that just pull an outfit together and make it look as though you’ve really made an effort (even when you haven’t).

The Statement Blouse

The statement blouse is the partner in crime/antidote to a wardrobe filled with denim. Or in my case, dresses up even the most beloved pair of vintage cut-offs. The statement blouse is the sort of piece that will have people on the street say ‘ooh, love your top’, and let’s face it, there’s nothing wrong with that.

The Itty Bitty Bag

Leave the kitchen sink at home. Sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest impact.

The Little White Dress

The fresher, more laid-back sister of the LBD. Appropriate for any occasion (except for perhaps a wedding) and does wonders for your tan.

The Colourful Shoes

Kitten heels in a pop of primary blue seems like an unlikely hero, but given that I live in vintage denim and white button ups most of the time, I actually end up wearing these snazzy Manolo’s at least once a week to give my outfits a little oomph.

The Green Power Piece

Eat your greens and wear them. If you’re stuck in a rut and have no idea what to wear, a little green is the perfect refresh. Be it a fluffy sweater, a power blazer or an ankle-grazing skirt, green is what you need.

The Beaded Bag

Fashion is supposed to be fun. And what’s more fun that a cute beaded bag. With cherries no less. It’s like the wicker basket 2.0
