Get maximum mileage out of your wardrobe by layering up your sartorial regulars. The easiest way to give your style favourites a new on lease of life is to mix things up (aka layer things up); but in order to keep things fresh you gotta embrace the unexpected.
Rather conveniently, layering is also the perfect antidote to the minefield that is transeasonal dressing (you know when one day you head out in bare legs and the following you pile on your winter coat).
Say yes to fishnets (but only in small doses). Pull on fishnet tights underneath your favourite jeans, only exposing it’s lattice texture at the ankles. Or style back your loyal loafers with fishnet socks. Or layer a fishnet top under slouchy shirting or a long sleeve dress. Steer clear of any 80’s disco vibes by keeping the overall look super relaxed.
Wear socks. It’s sounds simple (and no doubt incredibly obvious) but I don’t mean your trusty plain ankle socks. I’m talking statement socks – like the graphic tee, but for your feet. Not only will they make your heels/loafers/trainers be infinitely more comfortable, you’ll look 100% cooler too.
Wear your watch on top. Don’t let your finest accessory languish under long sleeves – strap it on over everything from a structured blazer to a cosy knit. It’s the easiest way to put your timepiece on show, and you’ll never be late again (that’s on you though). I’m currently sporting Cluse’s Minuit timepiece which is the perfect balance of minimal and masculine; aka everything I look for it a watch. It’s leather straps (which are adjustable, obvs) are ideal for layering with.
