The Beach
Psarou beach, Mykonos
What’s the deal?
It may be famed for it’s party scene, but the truth is Mykonos specialty is it’s beaches. And with it’s calm sea, picture-perfect sun loungers and cliff-side views, Psarou is one of my favourites on the island.
How to get there
Tucked away on the south-western side of the island, Psarou is sheltered but easy enough to find without much assistance. Follow the signage from Mykonos town south towards the sea – it’s pretty much a straight line, you can’t miss it.
The low-down
You’ll notice from my photos the distinct lack of people on the beach – and no we didn’t get up at the crack of dawn. We visited Mykonos at the start of the season (end of May) and it was straight up idyllic. However I have been told by friends that in the height of the busy season (July and August) you need to get your hotel to book sun loungers a day in advance. I kid you not. So to fully enjoy this beach I would highly recommend going outside of the high season; although to be fair this goes for pretty much anywhere in Europe.
