Lifelong habitual dressing weighing in here; you can wear pretty much the same thing day in, day out if you’re clever about it. Elevated basics may sound pretentious, but really they are arsenal of the lazy (ahem, habitual) dresser.
The concept is simple; getting dressed with minimal effort, without veering into the realm of boring. The recipe is as follows: one pair of classic frames (Celine are my 24/7 go-to), a slouchy tee that looks like you pinched in from your boyfriend by really it’s courtesy of Christophe Lemaire, ink-black jeans (which you only wash inside out when absolutely necessary) and Gucci mules to show that you appreciate a well-crafted shoe. Stir once, mix in a black belt (to cinch the waist) and finish off with a minimal timepiece (so you’re never late).
Unlike your usual basics, these elevated pieces require a little more consideration and planning (i.e. several hours scouring the pages of LUISAVIAROMA in search of the perfect luxe pieces whilst doing cost-per-wear calculations in your head). Because nothing good in life comes for free. Except that is, free shipping (and returns).
