It appears I’ve inadvertently become the poster child for khaki… But to be fair it’s all within the realm of the minimal colour palette I’m ever so fond of. Black, white, grey, navy, khaki. Rinse and repeat.
And the new way to wear utilitarian threads? With a straight up sophisticated approach. The idea is rough and tumble, with a strictly grown up edge. I’m telling you, Nobody’s distressed denim, khakis separates and military jackets can be as slick as they can boyish. So I’ve rounded up my three favourite ways to style the combat trend.
Monotone may just be my favourite mantra – and there’s no reason to discriminate with khaki. One colour palette top to toe will be forever cool and uncomplicated. Pair with fresh white trainers to top off the easiest combo out.
The power of the khaki denim jacket is in it’s inherent casual vibe. A little over-sized, well-worn and forever cool. So pair with tailored trousers and your slickest loafers for an unexpectedly dapper twist.
Naturally, I’ve saved the most sophisticated (and my favourite way to rep khaki) for last. Layer up like an onion with a crisp shirt, flared trousers and your sexiest heels. It’s feminine without showing a lick of skin.
Now go forth and don your khakis.
