The humble white shirt has been updated more than a few times over. This classic wardrobe staple has all of the bases covered; from the traditional menswear button-down to the shirt-dress that gets serious airtime come summer.
The latest incarnation of the white shirt? It’s served up with a serious side of oversized cuffs – the bigger the better. The foundation of this look is still crisply tailored, but with some heavy volume involved.
I’m not gonna lie – this look does require a little more maintenance than the classic white shirt. Especially when dining out; disaster awaits when you lean over that soup or reach for the pizza. But I’m all about classic with a twist – and when it comes to the twist I say go all out and unbutton at the wrist for even more of a statement.
The easiest way to wear? Have the sleeves pop out of your favourite chunky knitwear or tailored coat. Pair with your most worn-in denim or kick flares for extra cool points. It’s more party than business time so have a little fun with it.
